Role play: “You be the editor”

Case Two: Story

A prominent cleric died because of AIDS. The relatives doesn’t want the press to know and report about the cause of death but a close family member told it to a reporter

a) Go against wishes of the family and print that AIDS was the cause of death.
b) List the cause as complications of pneumonia, without reference to AIDS.

We decided on b) because we think it wouldn’t respectful to the dead and the family.
If we had decided on a) maybe we would have more readers, but sometimes you have to decide with your heart and not because of money.
It’s not necessary for the public to know the exact kind of death.
